Since the founding of the company in 1984, California Controlled Atmosphere has sought to be the best and most reliable full service industrial refrigeration company in the San Joaquin Valley.  Why are we successful?  There’s more than one ingredient to success, but all involve commitment.

Integrity

It has been said, “You can achieve a good reputation when people see you doing the right thing, but you gain integrity when you do the right thing when nobody is watching.”  To gain your trust requires that we strive to do what’s right, all the time.  In today’s business world, success is generally measured only by short-term profits with clients and employees competing for second and third.  We prefer a higher road that includes sound business practices, morals and ethics, with people first.  Profits are important, but we believe that sacrificing integrity damages relationships and will eventually reduce the bottom line.

Performance

Our commitment to performance requires that we be dedicated to our employees through in-house training, education, and encouragement.  Statistics show an increase in performance and stability as workers develop self worth, confidence, and satisfaction in what they are doing.  This is the road to true craftsmanship and quality, and “just adequate” does not make the grade.

The Family Unit

A big factor in the successful performance of a worker is family stability.  With long work hours and travel, Construction/Service companies tend to be hardest on the employees families.  We believe that encouraging strong family ties helps strengthen the company as a whole, and will give it added stability.

Growth

As with commitment to performance, it is necessary that we be successful at setting goals.  We involve people at all levels within the company to help us focus our attention and direct the company’s growth.  Both short and long term planning on a corporate and individual level are considered in looking toward the future.

Teamwork, Strength, and Experience

True teamwork recognizes the talents of all the players; where one may have a weakness another provides strength.  Often times I see myself as a player-coach encouraging each of our team members to do his best.  Being on a team means sharing the responsibility and support.  Jim Mitchell, our service supervisor, was correct in saying, “When you have Cal C.A. do your work, we come as a package, you get all of us.”  We become a part of your team.  We face challenges others turn away from.
