Compressor

The purpose of a compressor is to raise the pressure of a low pressure refrigerant gas to a high enough pressure that it will cause it to condense at a higher temperature.  By doing this, heat will be removed as it condenses back into a liquid in the evaporative condenser.  The most common compressors used in industrial refrigeration are the reciprocating and screw compressors.  These are the workhorses of the industry.
